Resources for Art & Craft SuppliesGeneral Art & Craft Supplies OnlineMister Art This was one of the first places I discovered when I was at school and needed to save a few bucks on supplies. Dick Blick This is a great resource for drawing and painting supplies. Cheap Joes This is where I buy many of my watercolor supplies. They have great sales. National Art Craft A good resource for lighting parts especially primitive and country style lighting, clock parts, doll making supplies, ceramics and more. They do have a minimum order requirement that they may waive for an additional shipping and handling charge. Factory Direct Crafts Supply They have a large variety of crafting items. I think they tend toward the country/rustic/primitive crafter. Aftosa They're a ceramic material supplier. You may be tempted to pass them by, but you'd be surprised and the number of items that are made from clay. They have the parts for those items. I found Hummingbird feeder tubes here. American Science & Surplus Disco Balls, Skeletons, Beakers, beads, magnifiers..You never know what you might find in their catalog. I have ordered small round containers from them. I use them for storing beads and findings. I am now on their snail mail list. It's always a kick to look through the catalog. Lighting/Lamp Part SuppliesThe Lamp Shop This is where I have ordered many of my parts and materials for lampshades. They also have patterns and instruction books available. Antique Lamp Supply If you are trying to restore old kerosene lamps or convert old lamps to electric they have a multitude of parts. I have ordered oil lamp parts from them. Tool SuppliersMicro-Mark my favorite place for model making tools. This is where I bought many of the small tools when I was in school. I still use the tools I bought here. FloralAfloral.com I've never ordered anything here, but I keep looking. TheFlowerMart.com this is actually a place that is very close to where I live. I have visited and bought dried roses and foliage from them. They were very friendly and allowed me to go through their warehouse. Jewelry and Bead SuppliesFire Mountain Gems and Beads is another source that I have ordered from they have a great variety of beads and findings. RioGrande Findings, Displays, Tools, and much more, they have everything for jewelery and light metal artisans. I have ordered supplies from here.
Public Domain ImagesWikipedia is a great starting point if you're looking for images to use in mixed media or collage. You can also find old cards on some of the sites listed on this page. Make sure you check the copyright information before using the images W Dover Publishing Not only do they sell books, but if you sign up for their free samples, every month they send you an email with the address for the some free images (clip art, photos, old advertisements, old labels, puzzles, coloring book pages, and much more. Internet Archive This is a non-profit site that was set up to do research. Although the site does not have every book ever published, it does have an extensive list of books that are no longer in print. I have not downloaded books from the site, but I have used the site to verify that the books I own are in the public domain. Goggle Book Search I haven't had an opportunity to use this site yet. I have looked at it long enough to know that it does have downloadable versions of public domain books. Incredible Clip Art & Images Someone was asking about clip art for education and teachers. This site has a long list of links to public domain and other images. A few of the types are purely for educational purposes.
