24th Annual Hood River Valley Harvest Festival

Photos of the Produce at the Harvest Festival

The Harvest Festival had many boxes full of apples at excellent prices.

We bought Asian Pears. They are so much better when they are allowed to ripen on the tree.

The only picture I took inside the vendors area was of the bags of filberts (Hazelnuts). The bags just said "Oregon" to me.

I loved these gourds. They had these wonderful protruding veins that made them look perfect for Halloween.

It's fall. How could I not take a picture of the pumpkins.

These guys are huge, but they make a yummy pumpkin (all right, squash) pie.

Fine Arts & Craft Vendors

The booths where I bought something

Potpourri Garlands

They sell potpourri garlands and recycled tea cup bird feeders. I bought two wonderfully scented potpourri garlands. One was a mini dried apple garland scented with apple spice fragrance. The other was a dried orange garland scented with orange spice. I bought some orange spice fragrance to go with my garlands.

baskets from OZ

The woman who makes these baskets is Sandy. She makes them in a variety of sizes and colors. The quality was exceptional. I loved her booth and the wonderful colorfuls. She was friendly and knowledgable. I bought a burgandy onion basket. You can contact her through her email at basketsfromoZ@spiritone.com

Lamon Bee Acres & MCC Farms

They sell an assortment of honey, bee pollen and beeswax candles. We bought all 3. Our choice for the honey was Willamette Valley Berry and we bought 12 pounds. Their card says they have honey for sale and they do custom extracting. They do have an email address morrisonvp@cs.com

The booths where I stopped and wished I could buy something

Sweater Heads

I only spoke briefly with Leslie McCray, the craftsperson behind sweater heads. I was drawn to her whimsical wool hats made from recycled wool sweaters. She also had some pretty wonderful scarves in her booth. You can contact her through email at sweaterheads@hotmail.com

Every Thread Counts

This booth was shared by 4 women who did the most luscious quilts. They are based in Hood River and do offer classes. They had a wide variety of quilts and quilted linens from table runners to large bedspreads.

Some of my Husband's Picks

Emerson Glass Art Studio

Many people work do fused glass, lampwork and blown glass these days. It's become so prevalent that we rarely take a second glance anymore. This booth was definitely different and a delight for the eyes. Both my husband and I agree that the variety and beauty of the pieces was exceptional.

Randall J. Hodges Photography

My husband is an amatuer photographer and loves looking at others photos. Although we saw a few photographers at the show, he liked this one the best. He said the lighting in the photos was spectacular. He also said that the photos were untouched.

Paiges Choice

I asked my husband what he liked so much about this booth. He isn't normally one to pick up brochures for jams, jellies and syrups. He said he liked the way the woman in the booth looked and he really liked the packaging. They also carry baking mixes. You can contact them at bpaige1@mindspring.com
